Fast on the heels of local 'Canalside Radio' broadcasting Debra's play 'The Penny Button,' Debra won first prize in a writing competition to write the story and script for a community project.

This major community project, facilitated by James Nicholas and Amanda Stott, saw Debra's words come to life in a full length feature film.
A member of Nik Perring's writing group, Debra was asked by fellow writers to create covers for their books, now available on Amazon.
Debra is able to match her illustrative style to the needs of the brief. This particular piece was for a project by Sean Webster's fundraiser 'Draw for Animals' which helped raise £600 for Chester Zoo.
A member of SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators) since 2017, Debra was honoured to have the opportunity to be part of the exciting project by UCLAN & Barnados 'Stories 2 Connect'.

After writing (and illustrating) her story 'Soundcheck' she was asked to illustrate the story of fellow SCBWI member, Dale Hannah. Dale's story 'Billy The Kid' was a delight to illustrate. Both can be found on the Stories 2 Connect website, alongside many other wonderful pieces of work by SCBWI members.
